Artist's Description
Digital fine art render of a North American F-86 Sabrejet piloted by Lt. James Thompson in the Korean War.
F-86F-1 ‘THE HUFF” flown by 2Lt James L Thompson of the 39th Fighter Squadron, 51st Fighter Wing in June 1953. He has achieved two kills in the past month and is looking for a third. His first kill in May 1953 was most likely a high ranking Russian pilot who flew a MiG-15 with a large dragon motif on its side, this was inspiration for Thompson’s crewchief, Sgt J W Manney, to paint the dragon on the Sabre soon afterwards."
About Walter Colvin
My Name is Walter Colvin, I am a 76-year-old retired disabled war veteran. I have been doing artwork from fun for about 17 years. I started out with oil, acrylic, pencil, and charcoal. Most of the artwork I did was for friends on request. I have only started to sell to public for about five years. Almost all the artwork I do now is digital art on the computer and digital photography. Started digital art about eight Years ago. I do miss brushing oil around on the canvas, but digital art is new challenge I enjoy. Most of the art I do is nature, wildlife and Landscape, but I do others from abstract to space. My goal in digital fine art is to make my digital art as good as a fine Oil painting. I would do my artwork even if I never sold...
